“[Most bodyguards] are former military or law enforcement,” says David Stone, 49, founder of Stone Security Services, an NYC-based security company that has provided celebrities including Katie Holmes and Paris Hilton with bodyguards for the past 13 years.
“I really don’t want my guys to be armed,” says Stone about his own company’s practice. “It’s not a good thing. For example, if a bodyguard has an issue with a paparazzo and they see a firearm, then [the headlines] say, ‘Jennifer Lawrence’s bodyguard menaces the paparazzi by showing a firearm.’”
Stone Security Services expects to open their own Bodyguard Training School in Miami by the end of 2015
